Intro to Modern - Mini Camp (ages 4-6)

Modern Dance began as a rebellion of ballet in the early 20th century which created a universal goal to move our bodies in endless ways possible. The class will begin with a warm-up that includes strength, flexibility, floor work and standing exercises. We will learn technical combinations as well as improvisation and composition. Dancers will learn to express themselves by combining movement, music, dance steps and improvisation. We will travel like animals, jump like popcorn, wiggle like spaghetti, and spin like a helicopter, while growing our creative and technical skills. 

The mini camp will include a craft project, dance class, snack time, and finally we will collaborate to create a dance based on a book to be performed at the end for families. 

Details:

Ages 4-6

Wear comfortable clothing and barefeet. Dance clothes are not necessary.

Bring water and snack.
